Chemical Feed Solutions is an independent OEM situated west of Auckland in Henderson. They specialise in New Zealand designed and built chemical dosing plants for treatment of water for regional councils and the like. One of the key products they manufacture is an automatic gas chlorination bottle/drum shutdown system. This system controls automatic actuators to close chlorine gas bottles/drums in the event of a chlorine leak.
Weidmuller control installation
As you can imagine this system is very important to personnel and plant safety and must be 100% reliable in the event of activation. Also all of the associated hardware sourced should withstand the harsh chemical environment required for this application.
Chemical Feed Solutions were after a 24V DC UPS to ensure in the event of power failure, the above safety system worked seamlessly. CSL Sales Engineers offered the Weidmüller 24V DC UPS system which is all din rail mountable and is ideally suited for this application. The controller and separate battery combination easily fitted into the current design and switch board, and was the perfect solution for the chlorine gas leak safety system.
