CSL is very proud to be joining Siemens and Fluke in sponsoring Master Electricians Apprentice Challenge 2025.
The continual professional development of industry talent has always been a high priority for us and we recognise our responsibility to deliver ongoing access to world leading technology and innovation along with the leading techniques and tools to get the most out of it.
Our comprehensive training calendar, partner network group graduate programmes, annual iSPEC innovation conference and welcoming the industry to visit and use the advanced services of the TechLab Engineering Centre are just some of the ways we support the industry throughout the year.
Over 300 apprentices will compete across seven locations throughout the country between July and September, all hoping to earn their way to title of New Zealand’s top electrical apprentice.
We are very proud to not only sponsor this event but actively participate in the creation and judging of the automation testing module that has been designed to accurately represent real-world scenarios. The PLC-based automation module is delivered in partnership with Siemens and the Test and Measurement module makes world-class Fluke instruments and tools available to all competitors.
Always seeking to go beyond sponsorship and into participation, we created custom PLC training rigs that resemble onsite situations both in the way the rigs are built and how the challenge is structured focusing more on promoting good problem solving and empowering young apprentices to get in to automation programming and engineering.
The automation setup uses industry leading components from Siemens, Weidmueller and Rittal with the centrepiece being the S7-1200 controller – the Swiss army knife of PLC quickly establishing itself as the go to for many applications in the NZ market
Along with that we have also ensure that we attend every single session and provide guidance and encouragement to apprentices as part of our commitment to the challenge and skill building for our country.
The Master Electricians Apprentice Challenge is an annual competition held across New Zealand to find New Zealand’s BEST electrical apprentice!
The top 5 national competitors from each division (Domestic/Commercial and Industrial) will get to go to the finals for an all-expenses paid trip to battle it out for the title of Master Electricians Apprentice Challenge winner.
