We are currently in the Grace Period for the Siemens Software Update Service (SUS). This is a special window that allows existing V20 users to fast-track your way to TIA Portal V21 and cost-effectively set yourself up for future releases.

What is the SUS Grace Period?

Normally, upgrading from one major Totally Integrated Automation Portal version to the next requires purchasing the respective licenses – typically around 40% of the original product price.

Since TIA Portal V21 has already launched, the standard door would normally be closed, but the Grace Period re-opens that door.

Until February 28, 2026 , customers with eligible TIA Portal V20 licenses can instead purchase SUS and receive the V21 upgrade at no additional charge.

Meet Your New Assistant – V21 introduces the AI-supported Engineering Copilot. Accessible directly from the toolbar, this natural-language assistant helps you generate PLC code, implement HMI visualisations in WinCC Unified, and solve engineering queries instantly to minimise errors.

By acting now, you secure the upgrade for roughly half the price of the respective license purchase. Plus, the SUS contract ensures you automatically receive every future update (V22 and beyond) the moment it is released.
